We are students at the University of Agder who design, build, and develop drones from scratch — spanning mechanics, software, AI, economics, and marketing.

Drone i luften

Aerobot Technologies is an interdisciplinary student organization at UiA. Engineers, software developers, AI enthusiasts, economists, marketers, and renewable energy students work side by side to build autonomous drones.

We will compete in international drone competitions and collaborate with industry and academia. With us, you gain hands-on experience you won't find in a classroom.

The organization was founded in May 2026 and is already one of the most exciting technology projects on the Grimstad campus.

What We Do

Technology in Practice

🛩️

Drone Building

We design and build drones from the ground up — from mechanics and electronics to firmware and control systems.

🧠

Autonomous Navigation

We develop autonomous flight control using ArduPilot and PX4, including GPS navigation and obstacle detection.

Competitions

We will compete in international competitions such as Student AirRace, SUAS, and UAS Challenge — working toward competing against the world's best student teams.

Software

Embedded systems, CAN-bus, telemetry, and real-time control — we work on hardware-close software development across disciplines.

Artificial Intelligence

We use AI and machine learning for image analysis, object detection, and decision-making in autonomous drones.

Marketing

The marketing team builds Aerobot's brand, manages social media, and communicates with the outside world and potential sponsors.
